Orange is better than yellow, you can't get better than orange. You dropped on there if you ask me. LED order from worst to best: Blue - Green - Red - Yellow - Orange. Ah, the LEDs are for the relays on the PCB, not for a on/off indicator for the outside of the case. I fitted a blue led power switch, just no annoy Macca. π

The one thing I hate about the KSA50S is the blue power LED. Should have asked Alan if he'd change it but I never thought.
And my pre has a blue one too. So I'm really suffering here already.

Subconsciously, it is the blue LEDs that make you enjoy the system so much. You just canβt admit itβ¦. You have tried other colours, but you keep going back to blue.

Soon I'm going to be the only one here not using a Neurochrome and a BB3. It's becoming like the North Korea of hi-fi forums

Soon I'm going to be the only one here not using a Neurochrome and a BB3. It's becoming like the North Korea of hi-fi forums I have said quite recently that we could do with a bit of diversity. Trouble is, when people hear the Neurochrome stuff, they tend to have to buy one immediately. Only folks i know of that have heard one and resisted, is you and jimbo so far. James doesn't post much now either as i suspect the new gaff is keeping him busy, so it's become a bit of a Neurochrome club. Any suggestions on how to attract a bit of fresh perspectives and experiences is always welcome.

well it works but i think somethings not right,im getting sound out of both speakers which doesn't sound bad at all, but the v1 tube is brightly lit and hot too touch, the ecc83 in v2 has a faint glow and is barely warm at all. the v3 tube is not glowing and is cold, ive tried swapping the valves over but it stays the same so its not the valves, any suggestions??

If I didn't already have Krell I would have got a 686 no question about it.

Measure pins 1-9 on V1 and V3 and then measure R6 on both sides. Keep Black probe on the outside of a RCA socket

V1 looks about right, the valves do get hot. Check for a bad joint on V3 base. Measure the voltage on pins 4 and 5 of the valve base, pin 1 is marked on the pcb, you should be getting 7 to 7.1V. What resistors do you have fitted for R2P and R3P? If you have 7V then they should be 2x 4.7 ohm.
