Next thing I need to sort out is a decent cleaning solution.
After that, I can look into a continuous filtration system, if I have nothing better to do, although that may wait until next winter.

Sounds like fun - I think my motor could do with slowing down so going to use a variac on it first to see how much voltage I need to drop it down by to get a slow enough speed. Might have ago at the weekend.

I have just filtered my cleaning solution, using a 190 micron filter that Tim suggested. Thanks for the top tip. I was using coffee filters before, as this was all I had available. The paint filter works really well, and it is surprising how much dirt is on what you thought were clean records.

Down to 1.5rpm now. Fitted a 5rpm 12V motor, running at 3V. When my slower motor arrives, it should be spot on, although 1.5rpm is probably close enough for good cleaning results.
I guess I need to find a really dirty record, and try cleaning it.

Is 1.5 RPM slow enough? Or should I fit my slower motor that arrived today? The good thing is that the motors are cheap, so now I have a few spares.
