on't know whether many of you have heard of this speaker brand, but with plenty of time on my hands, and also looking for a pair of bookshelf speakers, I've spent a lot of time on You Tube. :ugeek: Well they sound fantastic through my headphones and would appear to be great value for money. Just quickly looking at their website, it would appear you order direct from Tekton. www.tektondesign.com/

They have a fearsome reputation and by accounts shared by their owners, they are quite remarkable. Typically they are everything that conventional theory suggest shouldnt work well. Square sides, multiple drivers etc, but i quite like the look of them and i too think the videos of them suggest a transparent speaker. I'd love to hear a pair of the big ones to see if they are as good as suggested

I love these youtube videos, but to be honest they are completely pointless as they are totally dependent on your play back system.
I also realised this with the needle drops I did recently.

Hahaha, yes but its a better insight than no video, so i think they are worth their weight in gold personally.

I've been having a listen. The "Lore" look to be a solid size for a smaller room like mine. Unfortunately I can't find any sort of technical information on them other than the frequency range, which I always take as a bad sign. Am I wrong?

I really, really want a pair.....................Not The x/overs must be rather interesting, so you want dynamics sir? Let me see pretty sure we can a squeeze a 1 and 1/4 order in there no problem at all, cohesiveness phish for girls. Looking for top to bottom linearity? fear not we can deliver seamless integration without fear with our patented 6 order butter worth time aligned reference signature model, but the pipe/slippers Horlicks boys will never have been so impressed. Did listen to a pair of these last year on a trip the west coast. I'll take two pairs one for either side of my Toyota Hi-Lux parcel shelf the other for those tricky to fill the road with sound street parties. Hummmmmmmmmmm spank me

There was an English version a few years back design by a rather eccentric ex legal gent by the name of David Hart he was an 'interesting fellow' think similar but 10-15 years before the Trump lovers versions ring any bells, he once asked us to distribute................... Now I believe he does a pair of solid gold versions for over £10M???

On further discussions with someone in the know, his advice was...
"Run away, as fast as you can" 🤣

My favourite Hart Audio speaker was the innards of a Bose Wave radio mounted on top of a camera tripod. Think he was asking 7 grand.

These speakers are so ugly, if you woke up with your arm under them you would chew your F___King own arm off to get away.
You could push these speakers in to dough to make Gorilla biscuits, dingo ugly mate

Ollie if I were you I'd consider some Yamaha NS1000. There's a set on AoS right now for a grand.
With a sub or two added they will transfer well to your bigger room when it gets done.

Hmmm.....I need a week or so to shift the 880's, I suspect they will be gone by then. **EDIT** Just had a look.....nope, not for me. If they were minters i would have considered it but then i suspect they wouldn't be £1k

£1K is about right for non-minters, not sure what is wrong with them? The finish isn't original but all drivers are sound.

They would be between five and ten grand if still made today.

I've heard David Price's versions you deffo do not want them
Yammy sold the factory in the mid 90's to Pioneer no it used for making the drivers real speakers

Don't buy the Yammies Oli, Macca wants them... Always wanted some and they are close to me but would only be for the TV system so overkill really. Plus I have Tannoy Ardens arriving soon. Think they would be ideal for Ollie though, like his old Pioneers in alignment but much, much better.

If they made today they'd be way more than 5k, just look at the TADs. Id expect closer to 20k. The failing of the ns1000s is the bass integration due to the xo. Split the mid and tops and go active on the bass drivers with PEQ and they can be stunning.
That said im happy with mine with the RAALS replacing the Yam tweeters. Though I must get round to fitting 5he new bass chokes I have from Paul @ REFC.
