Bruce
My choice of examples was not meant to be willy waving at all sorry if it came across that way., that was not the intention The purpose was to illistrate that a carefully chosen well thought out system can far surpass many a more costly system at whatever the price
I have a good friend that I met when we moved to our current location he had just got divorced and ended up with the house but not much else. He dropped in one day as I was repairing a large American amp and he saw me moving it to the stores. The upshot was he had a broken naim amp so I overhauled it for him and eight years later a good friend I can enjoy a beer with and listen to some tunes on a Saturday afternoon his total system cost at retail 2500 when new in 1993, yet it is musical and fun not the last word in detail or bass but it doesn't matter it plays music
With regard to FBA, you purchase the files in the same way you would purchase record's or CD's the artists royalties are paid in the same way to them
If you are ripping a CD you are legally entitled to make a copy for personal use which is not home taping is killing music
Streaming is different the contract is between the various record companies and the streaming services they are the entities that are corporate rouges
Hope that clarifies things Bruce
