Im not going to argue about my vegetarianism.
Like I don't preach about it.
It's hard to do one without drifting into the other , so I don't bother.
The answer to youre original question is simple.
The vast majority of vegetarians don't give up meat because they don't like the taste.
So why not have something that tastes like meat ?
The important thing , seeing as I'm having to spell it out , is that it doesn't include a dead animal !

I asked this question to a vegan at work, however it was more specifically aimed at "Sausages"

My word, he was right.
However veggie "Bacon" i don't get.
Tried a few veggie bits and it's all pretty good, just the odd bit that made me gag

It's not that hard.
Simply...although I'm a veggie I'm not a veggie because I don't like the taste of meat. It's simply because of animal welfare.
So if I can have something that tastes like a bacon sandwich which everyone knows are delicious tasting , what's to argue about?
A bacon tasting sandwich without killing an animal sounds sublime and guilt free.
Most vegetarians do it for cruelty reasons. Not taste reasons.
Over time though you do realise how tasty veg can.
