Ok so this will be about my headphone amp build . Bought it a while back but haven't had time to think about it until now. A pro kit with which I bought the specified case too. 🙂 Still waiting for a few parts but can get on with the board in the meantime. Lots of small caps here so will need the magnifying glass!   |

Well, erm, if you look closely at your patio there is a small Alps shaped hole where I managed to rescue one....
Just saying.

Anyway it was nice working outside and a success in as much as I didn't drop any components and see them disappear through the gaps in the decking. 😄

Well not that I'm an expert on these things by any means but there seems to be a few interesting design points on this PCB as follows. - Each input (differential/RCA) has built in EMI and RFI filters to screen any noise that might be present from other devices around and about - There is capacitor to prevent any DC voltage from being present in the output of the amp. Should this fail there is also a protection circuit that kicks in to prevent DC from reaching the headphones and damaging them. - The same protection circuit acts as a 10 second delay when the amp is powered up to prevent unnecessary noise from reaching your headphones and disconnects them on power down. - There is a trim pot to adjust the brightness of the LED on the switch if it is too bright/dull for you. - There are 2 gain options which can be changed by a jumper on the board - 5 and 15 db respectively Anyway just some info for the electrosavvy amongst you out there.  |
