Hi Nathan What valves are you using? I ask as before mine wen down I replaced the Mullard PC88s with some NOS Teslas at very reasonable cost and they certainly improved it in my eyes. You can get a pair here for about £17. Ebay pc88s
Cheers I bought my Philips PCC88 from Oli, I didn’t even think about valves. I just bought to get it up and running. I also bought a JJ ECC83 from where I can’t remember. upgrading the valves was going to be my next step but not being very into valves I was unsure what would be best without a bit of valve swapping. thanks for the link. I may start with them unless anyone has a better recommendation.

I'm a big fan of it. www.watfordvalves.com/product_detail.asp?id=676The PCC88'S are yellow/gold labelled Tesla. I like a cleaner, more insightful sound vs warm and euphoric, and these deliver that.

'Pedant mode on' It's PCC88, not a single C. I'm sure it's a typo but if anyone tries PC88 they won't work.
'Pedant mode off'

Thanks Oli, Thank Alan.
I prefer a warm sound so if anyone can recommend valves that produce that I'd appreciate it.

I like it on the top? Seems to be set against the mesh nicely. Got a link to the seller? I have a couple of projects regarding sorting the logo out. I could do with some help actually.

That's neat ,agree with Olli better on the top. I think it's slightly too big for the front.

My BB3 has arrived and now installed in my BB1 case. A massive thanks to Oliver! You’ve done a great job building this for me and answering some daft questions. Much appreciated mate 👍🏻 Sounding very nice indeed and I’ve only had it playing around an hour or so! 1 thing I’ve noticed Is the soundstage being a lot wider. I’m sure it will improve with age too! 8708AF71-AA05-4FDF-9C82-FFF214C7B1C7 by Nathan Rose, on Flickr 5BBEFFB7-691C-4DD7-B4F5-3013D4DB329B by Nathan Rose, on Flickr
