If you dont find them better than Van Damme, I can recommend Specsavers for microsuction of the ear. 😉 I've got an associate at my clinic that takes care of all my Audiology needs. I've recently had them tested. Apparently I have above average upper end hearing and slightly better than normal lower end. I have a 5db discrepancy, with left ear being slightly down compared to right. Have you heard the van damme stuff?

Oh, a natural channel imbalance 🤣 I think that's quite common. Yes, I had the blue and black ones a while back. Think they were 6mm? I preferred the Ixos cables to them, then the Fisual to the Ixos, and then the Chord Epic Twin wiped the floor with all of them. Then came the MultiCore OCC cable I eventually used for the Spotfire Speaker cables which were so much better that I thought must have consumed an hallucination causing mushroom. They obliterated the Chord epic twin. On a visit to Jimbos, with the Chords in place his system sounded broken. With the MultiCore OCC, the system was so good that I couldn't take them away from Jim. He didn't change stuff without being utterly convinced. He was there for the Chords battering the Fisual and the van Damme in my system. Likewise, when the chord went in, the VD and Fisual sounded broken. The MultiCore OCC (Spotfire) remained the best speaker cable I'd heard, including £4k Gekko's and all sorts of dealer priced tripe that were utter Sh#t. Nordorst, Chord Sarum Array, Chord signature.....the MultiCore OCC blew them all into the weeds. The only criticism ever levelled at them was that they didn't quite have the HF extension that some of the other cable had.....but they were far superior in every other way. Then I tried the Zavfino Graphene stuff, which were different rather than better, then the 7N OCC stuff from China which were as good as the Zavfino but 1/3 of the price. Finally, the Acoustic Revive which have been the best speaker cable I have had the pleasure of owning. They were the only cable that image like the MultiCore OCC and had the HF extension of the Zavfino. I can tell you now....if I take them out, my system loses transparency and cohesion. It doesn't matter what else I have put in, or at what cost...the sound is not as transparent or cohesive. My whole system is PC-TRIPLE C now. Your SAEC are made of the exact same stuff, just stranded rather than solid core. I will try some of that too as it has a slightly larger guage.

Interesting read, you've been around the block with speaker cables. I've had about 4 or 5 pairs over the years. Nordost, Van Damme, Chord, some no name stuff and a few others.

Interesting read, you've been around the block with speaker cables. I've had about 4 or 5 pairs over the years. Nordost, Van Damme, Chord, some no name stuff and a few others. There has been loads through here I recall reading that some loon had cut the wire off his Flymo and was claiming that the cable was the best speaker cable you could get. I had a Flymo....so I cur the wire off to try it. It was OK. Then I read about using 2.5mm twin and earth.....I have some.....it was OK. Them someone suggested that Morrow make good speaker cables, but they are very thin. Tried them.....they were ok. The Fisual was a reco from Grant on AoS. They were the first cable that I thought "ohh...these are good" It was £2pm 🤣 I was given talk talk 3 by Andrew of this forum in its origin....it was horrible. I was given blue and black van Damme too....can't recall who. It was ok...not really better or worse than the Fisual Had some Ixos I bought/swapped with Alan, they were good. I had some NVA stuff here that Macca brought down. Not for me. Jimbo brought Chord epic town round. Rob brought Chord Signatures round I repaired a pair of pure silver things that someone bought off eBay..wretched things. Then some clearer audio....they were ok A fella called Martin brought the Chord Sarum Array....less said the better Tried some from Max Townsend too but can't recall the name of them. Then I started making my own.. I do tend to go very in depth with comparisons as I'm not a hifi snob. I just want what sounds best 👍

Yes but 'to work well', what does that mean?

Yes but 'to work well', what does that mean? To remove itself from the audiochain, not impart its own sonic footprint on the end result.
The Sarum array is the first time I ever listened to a chord amplifier sound like a Meridian amp, quite an achievement

That’s very generous!! Actually...10 metres would be perfect ( I know..cheeky sod) But I am expecting a parcel tomorrow and 2 five metre runs might mean I wasted 20 quid on 10 metres of qed cable also arriving ...but I maight be delighted. Pics to follow tomorrow night😎

I'll be looking forward to some pics Steve, and a review of the QED vs CAT 6 cables. You may want to upgrade to CAT 7 or even 8

Lol So Antonio/Dave is referring to a piece of kit arriving today that he had found that quite possibly is the ideal solution for my search for a one box ‘elegant’ solution to the living room system. I’ll bugger off this blog and start a new thread.!

I've got the PC-Tripple C connect upto some WBT silver spades in the valve system. At the moment I've got the stuff connected up in the valve system which will be it's new home. Van Damme has been consigned to the garage or when I can get around to it, selling it off. Lots more detail and weirdly less hum in the Tannoys, WTF? So, I can honestly say noise floor has been lowered, the Tannoys are now nearly silent apart from a very small amount of transformer hum.

THAT cable for the tonearm is very good and certainly wiped the floor with everything tonearm related i tried against it. I am severly tempted to buy the CCC tonearm cable, but at £350ish ..... im a bit scared lol
