@petethebutcher Probably my favourite piece as well, and still my number one band. Fragile was the first album I bought.

Whatever. All I do know that music from either album has the power to transport me back to 1972. Loons. Patchouli. And You And I: Cord of Life etc

Yes were a true progressive band imo, for me the music never dates, unlike some of my favourites back then. And You and I is another classic, probably my brother's number one Yes song. I do wish they had 'retired' a few years ago, don't like to see them without Jon Anderson although Benoit David was a very good replacement.

A bit obsessed with Dexys at the moment as Iโm reading Helen OโHaraโs autobiography. Having grown up in the same time frame it really resonates. So this has been released today. A remastered version of Too Ry Aye Bloody marvellous

saw him on the tour for this album, Manchester Apollo 1986. Great band. Mark Knopfler was surprise guest guitarist. It was so loud it was crazy, my ears rang for three days after. Had a fantastic pint of Chester's Mild in the bar before kick-off. Don't think you can get it anymore.

So the remastered Revolver is out on Qobuz today. There is an amazing inclusion of just the Cello (and violin?) parts on Eleanor Rigby which gets hidden by vocals and the band normally Sublime

Dire Straits - On Every Street (Fade To Black) 1991 vinyl๐ Nothing to do with the record being played, just that's some nice kit you have there - how are you liking the Reference 3s?

Dire Straits - On Every Street (Fade To Black) 1991 vinyl๐ Nothing to do with the record being played, just that's some nice kit you have there - how are you liking the Reference 3s? They are very good. Iโve had 3 different speakers prior to these (B&W 703โs mk1/ ATC scm40 mk1 / Focal 1028beโs). They sound neutral, vivid and very transparent which is a very good match with my amp (Musical Fidelity AMS 35i) pure class A. I do really like them as they are more of an all-rounder than excel with a particular music genre. Thanks ๐

Yes EN, RJD era was superb I saw them three times during that first period with Immoi & Co Hammy odeon 1980 was the first time stunning gig, loud but amazing.
After Dio left due to 'issues' with the mixing of Live Evil, TI struggled to find singers that slotted into his vision, however Tony Martin did an excellent job, RJD was one of kind up there with the Elite no question, but TM isn;t to shabby.

And what's it like? And did you get it signed? (Not by her mum, that doesn't count) It's a pretty good album. Could probably do with a power ballad two thirds through just to break the pace a bit, but her voice comes over well. Reminds me a bit of The Cult around their stadium rock period except with a female vocalist. It's not signed but I can get it signed.
