Easily my favourite of Robbie Robertson’s albums. I really like this. A must buy for me. I hadn't even heard of him. Can anyone post Spotify links or do you need to be a subscriber? I've seen posts like yours but no idea how to do it. Hearing the start of every track on an album is a great way to let you know if you like someone. He reminds me a bit of Ricky Ross from Deacon Blue.

Robbie Robertson was the lead guitarist and primary songwriter from the group, The Band.
You need a free subscription to Spotify to post the links.

I can't believe you can just find and listen to free music without faff and the usual computer hassles. I realise that the quality won't be optimum for the free version but it's an incomprehensible music exploration tool. Bear in mind that I'm averse to anything that's related to computers and especially computer audio and I have largely been overseas and not kept up with any sort of news since about 2012. I've been looking for things to fill in my time and this seems like a perfect candidate. If I hadn't been able to do it from an iPad, it would never have worked for me. I can't bear PCs even in small doses. I'm glad I asked you now, Paul

Suzanne Vega - Close Up. Vol 4 Songs of the Family I have totally lost touch with her music but I will try Listenig to her on Spotify to see if I would like to seek more out. Solitude Standing was a real favourite of mine in the 80s. The she released (I think) Days of Open Hand and I just couldn't get into it at all. I never looked at her music again. I did the same with Fleetwood Mac. After Tango in the Night, their next album was so forgettable, I can't remember it's name. I don't even know whether they made more albums after that but I have tended to drift away from artists very easily if they release a duff album. It's rare for me to own a lot of albums by an artist because they only seem to have a "period" I like.

I don't own that Mark Knopfler album. I'll pick it up in a few weeks. I have liked everythjng he's done. I like Sting too. Not bad for a lad from Blyth and another from Whitley Bay,

I've been a fan of Steve Hillage ever since his Gong days. Sunday nights I find myself in the workroom on headphones and tonight it was this little lot. Either my ears have completely gone or YouTube sounds better than ever - Copied from my HFS post - System 7 - Freedom Fighters - Bluetech & Mirror System - Living Time - Habibi - Power of Seven - Space Bird - The Mind Boggles - Ship Of The Desert - Kupuri - ...Which led on to me clicking on this - (the Spendors DEFINITELY won't play this one )

I do play other things, honest, but I received the new System 7/Mirror System CD 'Cafe 7' as a Fathers Day present and am playing it tonight. If this doesn't get you moving to the music, I don't know what will. Gentle, musical, even the up-tempo tracks draw you in... The great production shows what can be done I think...

I really liked the first album, so thought I would give this a whirl. Sounds like something I’d knit a proper listen to. My iPad speaker doesn’t begin to do it justice. Off topic, but anyone considering the latest IPad mini, ask to hear the sound first, I find it worse than any other iPad I have owned. It has been an unexpected downside for me.

See you need a dock. You could then plug the iPad with Spotify into your system and you'd be all set

It seemed to sound good to start with bur then I began to hear issues and I also didn’t like my own laziness in hitting “shuffle”. It will suit some people but I think I will always need a physical playback medium

Fair enough, as the phrase goes, each to their own ... you should consider a Raspberry Pi maybe?
