used to have this on tape years ago when it first came out, just got it on CD for a quid. Takes me back. 'K-Mart Wardrobe' - classic stuff.

Not listened to anything Dan or Dan-related for ages (well about a week) so time for this:

from 1984 has it really been that long? Still a classic: he was a nutcase but I quite liked that.

Lou Donaldson - Blues Walk
perhaps not so well known as some but was well regarded in the late 50's. I rather like it except for Move (no.2).

I'm not going to say it's the best thing he's ever done but it's one of them.

Usually posts on here are all about how great the album your listening to is. However on this occasionโฆ itโs Sh#t. Usually I love the plinky plonky stuff that Penguin Cafe do. But not this new one. Drivel

Can't think of any other band where their two best albums are their first one and their last one.

The band assembled for the album was known as The Santa Monica Flyers. It consisted of Young, Ben Keith, Nils Lofgren, and the Crazy Horse rhythm section of Billy Talbot and Ralph Molina. Included with the early original vinyl releases of Tonight's the Night is a cryptic message written by Young: "I'm sorry. You don't know these people. This means nothing to you." Nevertheless it's still one of the best things done by anyone, ever.
