Whether it be your bedside radio or the squawk box on top of the fridge in the Kitchen.
For me it is using my budget note book, steaming radio stations, YouTub, NetFlix, or news etc. Got a cheap as chips cable from the hardware running from the headphone out into a Technics SU-Z15 amplifier, it has tone controls, even a mid control, mid and treble on max, bass in the middle. Then using Dixon 12 gauge speaker wire, cost less than lamp cord from the hardware into compact Wharfedale Crystal CR2-30 floor standing speakers, that I got as a freebee for doing a review for the agent.
Sound is foot tapping great, just plays all music so well. Warm, good bass, laid back and relaxing sound Actually it sounds better than a hell of a lot of demos I have attended. I sometimes I wonder why I bother with a fancy system. That being said there is a hell of a lot of difference in sound.

Main system barely gets switched on these days. If I'm downstairs I listen to the radio via a Yamaha AV receiver into JBL Control 1s, upstairs radio / CDs / MP3s on a memory stick via a Marantz CD player / Cambridge One into Tannoy Eclipses.

Most of my listening is through my brothers system, but as from Tuesday for 4 weeks it will be an Astell & Kern Jr, Fiio A3 portable amp and PSB M4U headphones.

Superlux HD681F Headphones. Plugged straight to the cheap sound card residing in my laptop. Basic Spotify for music. Sounds fucking marvellous!

Rather become a bloody Baptist, embrace Voodoo, or have intimate relations with a dead Nun, than embrace the Fall. Now stop suggesting repulsive things!

Yeah I know but in real life the gap to the hearth looks too big otherwise. I'll see what can be done tomorrow, we'll get it sorted for you

Onkyo DP-X1a DAP player in the car gets a lot of use, though the telly gets played through the main system regularly.

Just googled your Onkyo DAP, looks very nice, and I like that is thicker than some players, including my A & K Jr. Never use it in the car, will have to give it a try when I come back from my hols. Ooops, mentioned my holidays again.
