I find this very sad indeed & just show what kind of people buy it. ie: Gold plated versions of Arms & things..
Its maybe Aesthetics but ithat is not the reason its bought..showing off mainly imho.. No time for it or the people that feel the urge to buy it.

I don’t really like gold all that much anyway tbh. Better than black, I suppose. No way I’d pay the sort of premiums this stuff fetches,

Peoples decorative tastes are different, not everyone wants magnolia walls, if you want to have gold/silver plating and can afford £200 - 500, go for it.

Um silver is a tricky one. Flat anodised matt silver looks like silver sprayed plastic on modern gear.. But looks nice on vintage gear..
