Hi, I’m hoping someone who knows more than me (not hard) can help.
I want to find a replacement Alps motorised pot. Is an RK 27 type 10K Dual. I understand the 10KAX2 part of the code.
The bit I don’t understand is the other code to the left. It says “128t”. Others from various sellers seem to have different codes such as “354G” “404G” or similar.
Does anyone know what the numbers and letters of this other code signify please? All either have a small “t” or large “G” after the 3 figure number.

I have a motorised Blue pot that says 448G.. I dont know what it denotes & tbh i would not worry about it..
They used to make different variants ie Solder tags/PCB pins/Spline shaft for push on knobs, flattened shafts for knob fixings, Long shafts, Short shafts, thin shafts, fat shafts etc...
As long as you pin centres, Body size, type of shaft, diameter & length are what you want id just concentrate on the 10KAX2 which is 10K Ohm, 2 channels. I think the motor voltage rating are all the same.

I’ve also checked the Alps spec sheets for other parameters and none are listed. Odd, but maybe it’s an internal code such as country of origin or batch. I was concerned it would be either something to do with the motor or even gain structure. I wanted to keep it the same but it seems like I’m focusing on something that doesn’t matter. I emailed Alps and if I get an explanation of the code, I will share it.

I fitted that pot to a Quad '33' pre amp i heavily modified. Replaced the original pot which has a built in on/off switch. The power on/off switch i fitted on the outboard Power supply i made for it.. People diss these Pre's all the time but they are a totally different thing rebuilt & modded. As a side note it was not actually a power switch i used but a ETI '1110' series Thermal circuit breaker. By using one of these i did not need a power switch or a AC fuse/Fuse holder, this acts as both, cutting down the contact & wiring that would have been used the regular way, they are also very fast acting.. These also have a very tiny contact resistance which gets smaller the higher the current Rating.. Anyway back on topic, let us know what they say..

Never ever seen one of those. I like the 33 styling but not sure I’ve heard one.
