i had a pair in the past and didnt really give them a chance and sold them, but like the 852md there was something about them i liked, maybe the single cap crossover and robin marshall design? anyway they dont often come up on ebay but i saw a pair this morning and bought them. the soundstage is there strong point and cheap enough to give them a fair try this time round.

What they need a less bright amp if they are anything like the '352'. Both Marshall designs so dont see what not.

Look at the in room response, no bass to speak of and big peak in the top end. No wonder they sound toppy. It might help if the room is very small. Really they need a subwoofer.

I find tne treble quite refined. They have similarities to ES14s but a bit softer.

I'd never ever do that Just wondering whose gear you are criticising! If its mine your sadly mistaken cos i do not use a graphic EQ. However like i keep telling people it dont matter what you use as long as you are happy with it. You pompous arse attitude is showing tho innit.

Even if it’s between folk who know each other, it can put other more genteel folk off.

Yeah, the highs on here are getting a tad sharp. Now where's that resistor to tame? S.

Everyone is welcome here, that's always been the mantra.
I realise there may be conflict between members, especially elsewhere on the net but we aren't here for that.
We might be boring in only discussing the gear and not slinging Sh#t, but that's how I like it.
Leave the aggro at the door or don't come in.
Not saying there is aggro here, could be banter, but because I can't tell I felt a little reminder was entirely appropriate.
I enjoy the contributions of the members involved so let's get back to that.

having a proper listen to these tonight. amazing imaging but just lack meat on the bone compared to the ns1000's. they excel with jazz and acoustic stuff.

Haha, love AA on the telly! Yes, apparently the imaging from speakers with a slim front profile will always be better than that of a wide fronted speaker. It's certainly been the case here but when you've had a 12" bass driver, it's hard not to miss the sheer weight that they deliver.
