Dad is going to try a Naim Mu-so tomorrow. It's the generation 1 version. Naim is now doing generation 2 Mu-So. Price is like £1200 quid.
It'll either sound good or crap. Time will tell.

Well we both heard the Mu-so today in our home. To quickly end it the sound was below average at best.

I’ve seen some online vids and wasn’t greatly impressed. I think you have to just judge it as a sound bar and forget the fact it’s a Naim.

Naim-envy is a terribly debilitating and life-changing condition. Luckily, more is understood about it these days.
Help can be found here:

No need to thank me. I'm always happy to help.

Are you implying that Naim envy is closely related to and accompanied with penis envy?

In a sense, yes I am. However, Naim-envy is more acute and longer lasting, which leads to the conclusion that once you get to a certain age sound is more important than cock action.
I'm an expert in this particular field as you know.

For what it is, the Naim Mu-so is ok. It’s overpriced, but that not a massive surprise.

Thing is, the Mu-so doesn't sound like £1K. I've heard micro bedroom systems costing £199 sounding way much better. Sad!

And could that same micro bedroom system handle Spotify, TIDAL and process Hi Res files? And grab any internet radio station on the planet?
It's all about flexibility, form and function......I've heard both the Mk I and Mk II models in different home environments and I thought they sounded really good. However, I think the Mk II sounded marginally better. Add to that the aesthetics, (it's a lovely looking piece of kit, and should satisfy even the curious gaze of She Who Must Be Obeyed), and I think it's a great multi-award winning package.
Don't be sad. Probably best you stick to the £199 systems, eh?

I don't give a F#ck about flexibility. If it sounds good to me, that's all that matters.

The fact you can buy something cheaper than a bit of Naim kit and it sounds better, doesn’t surprise me. You have to remember you’re paying for the naim (see what I did there ). It’s not about how much it costs, it’s about how it sounds surely.

I once joined the naim forum when I had pre power set up. Nap 140 and summat else. I( don't do numbers, Id rather have a life .) They were the most stuck up elitest bunch of up their own arse self important wankers I have ever conversed with. If you didn't have at least a six pack or twelve grands worth of naim you went straight on ' ignore' . I lasted half a day then got a bit narky and buggered off . I was far too good for them anyway.😎

They didn't like me pointing out that the 500 range of amps can be easily bettered for less than half the price, LOL.
