I've seen a few pair of these for sale . Always wanted a pair of NS1000's but goose pairs are fetching terrific prices now. Any had any experience of these ? Are they just a poor relation or worth investigating ?

Not heard them but they are a poor relation to the NS1000M. You get a cheaper version of the beryllium tweeter but no beryllium midrange.
On the other hand if you don't want to fork out for NS1000M...
They're probably pretty good. Yam made some good stuff back then.

I don't mind dishing out if they're in good nick.
But 3.5K seems a bit excessive.

I don't mind dishing out if they're in good nick. But 3.5K seems a bit excessive. £3.5K for NS1000M is ludicrous. Around a grand give or take £200 depending on cosmetic condition is about right.
They're a classic and always going to go up in price so you won't lose on them.
