Those double volume controls are a bitch when they give Sh#t. Does this also have two mm phono inputs like the 1010

Ok managed to get an amp that will fit the bill with the Whardales. Good sounding amps from 1973 & loads of sliders.. Ive got the schematic & service data already. Ill go thru it, re cap it, check all the transistors & resistors, general service on everything else.. Should be here mid week.. Very 1970's.

Ok great messabout but picked it up.. Great condition, just ready for a service.. Another pair of Ross 'RE272' came today to go with it.. Sorry about the poor phone picture. The other pair of 'RE272' i got, i rewired with more lighter flexible wire & fitted Velour pads. They were the only two issues with these phones, the stiff wire & hurty original pads. All cool now. Managed to locate the matching Tuner which should look cool together.

This amps amazing sounds so big. Been sat 8 hours with my headphones on engaged.. The odd piss & a cuppa is all that was required.. Using the AKG phones & HRT Streamer/FLAC files.
Elton John used to own a 'TA-1150' in the 70's.. Thats a fiver for that top secret info loike..

The sound any of those JAP amps from that era is at best average, and by today's standards pretty bloody awful. From the best to the worst they are what they are, well made, good looking anachronism's, that belong on display, no longer suitable for playing High Fidelity music, sorry. Any present day decent budget amp will slaughter them sound wise.

Dude you are mistaken. This runs rings around a lot of Brit amps ive had in the past. If you have not heard this model you cant be saying that. You are actually the only person i have come across to say so, but if you aint heard it ill let you off..Do not tar every Jap amp of this period with the same brush.. I know full well their was some stinkers, but i also know full well their was some good uns..
However that said, you are totally forgetting why im putting together this system & also i find modern amps do not sound like i want an amp to sound, one of the main reasons i dont entertain them & you are also comparing old against new. Be it Hi-Fi or Cars its a silly pointless thing to do

I still stand by my opinion as you do by yours. With your permission let me clarify my opinion. In simple terms. Vintage kit sounds just like their description, vintage in my opinion, there are some speakers that are the exception, in my opinion.
If you like them well and good, I do not. And to use the justification that if the majority like them they must be good, that does not cut the cloth with me. I am not dissing the thing, I merely said I do not like the sound of them. As you have stated your strong opinion on your personal likes and dislikes quite plainly on numerous occasions, especially on music. I seem to recall you dissing the Sh#t out of my speakers, something like firewood and stupid big boxes comes to mind, and you have never heard them, so that argument coming from you holds no water. Is it not only fair that others are allowed to share their strongly held opinions, as you do?
I cant stand Harleys for the very same reason, but saying that in the wrong company will earn me a beating. I do however find the sound of the things appealing. I think I am fairly safe from the same consequence if I do not like the sound of vintage kit.
I admire your endeavor and cant wait to see how it all works out. Good luck and well done.

Me dissing your speakers! i think you got me mixed up with someone else.. Your first sentence sums it up. I like the vintage sound, i do not like the modern sound.. Just like motorbikes. Japanese Bikes sound dreadful to me, British bikes sound beautiful..However the Japanese bike will be faster & more off the mark, but that is irrelevant to me exactly the same with the modern sounding gear. When you choose & use a product, old or new you use it for a perfectly good & personal reason.
I can listen to this vintage amp all day absolutely no problem, puts a smile on my face. 10 mins with a modern amp & its turned off, i got the depressions & would be sold the week after. That is always the case. Hence i know full well what is the best way for me..
