Have any of you experienced this?
For me. I remember a chap dropping over a pair of Epos ES11 Speakers.
So we hooked up the 11's and played a few songs, and the look on the chap face was priceless. Said they sounded better than before, compared to when he had them in his own room. I even asked the chap what amp he was using, and responded with Denson B-100.
Who knows! Could just be lies from the seller. But the 11's did sound good.

My first Naim IBLs were utter Sh#t with Naim amps. Buyer brings round an Audiolab of all things and they suddenly come to life! I was kicking myself when he snapped them up,
Worse still, the same guy sold them a good few years later, he got them from me immaculate and boxed. They looked like they had been dug out of a scrap yard when he sold them on. If I could go back in time, I’d have booted him out on his arse and kept the IBLs.

I regret selling my Celestion 'Ditton 33'. When i bought them they were new old stock still sealed in the original box. Other than that they sounded the best in the range as far as im concerned, So when people are making a big deal out of the '44' & '66' i just laugh

The 66 was good value when you could pick them up for a few hundred. Now it's a grand or more for them.
I slightly regret selling my Celestion A2s. But that's about it.

Used to have Celestion A-Compact. Lovely solid build quality. Makes many modern speakers costing nearly £1k feel like Sh#t.

They were very well made speakers. Mine were as mint when I sold the as the day I got them, with original packaging, the lot. Bloke who had them basically got some brand new two grand speakers in the boxes for £250 quid. But when they come up on ebay they are mostly trashed, at least cosmetically.

The guy I got your Akais off had 66s at the same time. He slightly preferred the Akais. He offered me the 66 but I wasn’t interested. I think he wanted £600. He got given both the 66 and the Akais from a neighbour who was emigrating,

Interestingly the A2 was a bit like like a modern version of the 15. But I've never even heard the 33.

15 & XR were tripe beyond belief imho Lots of folk have said that. I have heard no Celestions except the baby bookshelf “3”. It was great for its price but other than that, I know nowt about Celestion. I always fancied trying SL600 or 700 but never found any bargains.

The only thing I regret selling, was my Sony PS-X70. The only reason I regret it, is that I only had enough money at the time to put a AT95e on it and even then, to my inexperienced ears, it sounded awesome. I would love to hear it with a top class cartridge because I think it would be immense.
reason I sold it?
It was a very posh (to me) automatic system that was supposed to work at the push of a button. However, It was not working and as there was no arm lift lever, I had to put the needle down by hand. I am Sh#t at this and was worse then so I sold it on.
I paid around £250 for it and sold it pretty much for the same price. Looking now, its over £800 to try one again. It aint gonna happen lol

The DL8 was a nice medium size smoothie from reviews with no nasties at all. Celestion, after the squeaky Ditton 15 and odd UL mid 70's era, came good I remember (from other subsequent models) and finished up greatly underrated (whatever people think of the dull SL6's, even these got sorted and ideas put forward in these filtered positively into later and other make designs, the Epos ES14 for example - look at the original cones and domes on early models...)
My eternal regret over twenty three years was selling the ATC 100A's. Had they been the neater size 50A's, I'd still have 'em I reckon. At least listening to current ATC models, I know I wasn't wrong in choosing this brand for my own listening tastes and rooms..
