Were they made out of Corian Geoff? Similar design to the Townshend Rock I believe, steel case filled with a sort of concrete/plaster material.

A Voyd was always my dream, but I’ve had chances to own them and passed. These days I don’t fancy the hassles of sprung suspension and 3 motors.

I always wanted a TTS800. They looked awesome but the opportunity came up for the next on the list and I snapped up the SP10.
I've heard both in my house and could've swapped but the SP10 does it for me.
I'd take a PS8750 though as a second TT.

It’s a world away from the 6750 in trend of looks and finish.

I am quite happy with my triggers broom, but I would also be happy with a top end Pink Triangle/Funk Firm table, complete with arm.

The 8750 is just pure eye candy.
Now, if technics had the same designers as Sony, but used their own engineers, it could have been that the SP10 couble be both beautiful and still be the top class performer it is.
If only.

SNAP - - Sony PS 8750. The 8750 was FAR more than *just* eye candy back then. Fit a top wooden body Grado Reference cartridge of the period (before they went all dull) and the sound was excellent.

Yes, on three occasions and it sounded fab to my ears. I remember hearing the Kuzma at Definitive Audio and again another good un. I have never heard one of the more expensive Amazon's, but did hear the One at Walrus, it tempted me to sell my LP12, unfortunately I never did. Have heard the Kronos in not ideal conditions, but would to give it a go in a system I'm familiar with. One more to add to the list, but never heard, Grand Prix Audio, Keith at Purite has one for sale.

I used to love hearing new things so I’m sure I still would.

Was it much better than the 6750, Dave? Some say not, but I can’t see that being right tbh. Back in 77 or 78, we had both Sony's side by side. I felt myself the 8750 was great but the 6750 was a bit 'meh.' Now this is forty years ago before we developed proper turntable isolation and in addition, I bet very few 8750's were actually sold in the UK (we in a prime central London location had to flog ours off in a sale!). At this time, LP12's were selling as fast as we could get them! - This in the days before the Ittok made the deck go all 'fruity' in the bass.

They were always fruity in the bass Dave. My pal had a Basik on his and it had a barrowload of fruit. It was one of the reasons I liked it, I thought that was why everyone who liked it liked it? The Sony probably sounds like a CD player. I.e it's actually pretty good but not as much fun.
