I've used one. It does nothing particularly wrong soundwise, but just isn't desperately lively.

I believe stuff like this, even poor measuring amps, are probably below our hearing limit now, in terms of audible distortions unless they have issues with real loudspeaker or headphone loads.

Distortion wise probably true as long as you don't crank it. But did you see the frequency response? You're going to hear that. Maybe it won't bother you but you are going to hear it. Just mass-produced Chinese tat, will be landfill in a few years when it fails as it can't be repaired. Really what is the point of stuff like this? It isn't hi-fi by any stretch of the imagination. The Denon PMA250 SEUK I bought off ebay for fifty quid would demolish it. When there is so much good amplification available second hand at the same price there should be no market for this rubbish.

I think Stan Curtis 'did' the SE Denons as I believe he did the Rotel BX models (it's all on his website but I'm too lazy to check right now). I rather liked the later 250 although the extra power of the 350 was an advantage I think. The 450se could be an animal but wonderful value if the speakers weren't as ott as the amp

I remember going to the house of a mate's girlfriend to play cards and she had a Denon system, amp, CD player, tape deck and the Denon-badged Mission speakers. All budget stuff but it sounded better than the set-up I had at the time. Caused me a bit of a re-think that did.

Mission did at least two baby-ish speakers for Denon and I think the larger 50? models were good in any system. I seem to recall the Mission 701 and 702 took this concept further (larger) and they gave the otherwise slightly breathless Denon DM30 micro system some much needed scale.

Decent budget speaker cables and some blutak* made it a really competent set up in a small room. Maybe £5-10 worth of ‘upgrades’ *other sticky tac is available

This wasn't a micro system it was a separates stack.
