If I ever spot a nice pair going locally at a good price, I'll give them a try.
Are they easy to drive, and are they super revealing of sources/recording quality etc? Or just plain good all rounders?

S. Lovely things Shane. I've had over twenty pairs of Tannoys since the seventies and that includes five sets of Eatons, they're one of my favourites. Don't be fooled by their compact dimensions, they pack a very decent wallop at the bottom end and go ridiculously loud. The mid transparency and pinpoint imaging is as good as any other Tannoy model. They are basically a 12" Monitor Gold fitted with a ten inch chassis and better quality cone.

I've been checking out some internal pics of the enclosures. I notice Eatons don't have internal bracing inside. Just sticky damping tiles covered in sponge.
