I doubt you’ll get many responses to that one lol. On the broader subject of “old age”, I kinda feel less “alive”, less “here” as I get older. It’s a bit odd. It’s like I’m in my internal world more and more.
Retiring has made my brain stagnate. I don’t want to work for someone else again, but nor do I want to become a vegetable, so I need something to occupy my mind and body. A fitness kick will help, as will the fact I’ve just ripped my Spicas to bits for a full rebuild. They were just too run down and ugly.....they and I both need a makeover!

Get yourself to a health farm Westie. Hope you don't have a couple of pieces left over when you put those Spica back together. Back to MrHucker's question, I'm a believer in the more you get the more you want, even has you get older.

Life in the UK is harder to stay healthy because the food is Sh#t and the weather makes getting out daily a bit harder. I am still enjoying life in the UK though. I didn’t think I’d say that. Just need to find healthier habits and something to occupy me.

Bass and treble binding posts were the wrong way round on one. It would make no odds with bi wire links fitted but you wouldn’t expect that from any maker.

I used to design and build crossovers for a living...............................but not that sort! I headed the little team on the local council that built all the car ramps and drives into premises and entrances into big industrial units, they're called crossovers. Designing and building speaker passive crossovers is also something I've done, since long before computers came along. I used G A Briggs tables, still got them.

Masturbation probably isn’t the best topic for a hifi forum, but old age is a decent off topic thread. It also affects people’s hearing, tastes, lifestyles and priorities. I’m Affected by many of those issues and I’m still trying to work out what this means. A few observations so far:
I like a gentler Sound these days, but I hope I never join the pile and slippers brigade.
My music collection doesn’t seem to encompass much new music as I get older.
Now I have lots of time to listen, it’s not as precious.
Aesthetics matter more because I want to be in a pleasing space when listening,
I can’t be arsed to go fetch stuff from any distance. At one time I just had to get something even if it meant a day on a train,
I don’t listen as loud these days. I just don’t like it anymore.

I could’ve corrected the “pile and slippers” typo but it’s actually better and funnier as is.

I blame it on reduced testosterone. Need to source some monkey glands!
