That’s stunning. It would be twice that price in Cyprus.

5 years time we'de have 200k if we lived like hermits
can u imagine westie-lad flying out there seeing it..paying for it then and there with a bank transfer..ffs this is something i have to do over the next 10 to 12 years.. we would want something not too big but immaculate..walking distance to shops would be a must.. this is the main reason we paid off this place so we can plan and look forward to buying something like that. this house is worth 400k..imagine when we retire selling this..ffs we could have 500 grand to buy a dream house..doubt that will happen though

worked out some figures today during me lunch break
we can save minimum of 2.5k a month and a max of 3.5k a month untill we retire.
120 times say 3k equals 360 grand..maries mum is 86 and owns her own flat and cash in the bank..we'de get about 90k when she's gone..so i rekon my dream of having a nice place in spain is looking good..in fact it's almost certain as long a disaster doesn't happen

pensions
we get state pension papers evey april here telling us what our state pensions will be
ok here it is
mine will be about 1000 quid a month plus 75 percent uk pension..so about 1400 quid a month
now marie has 3 pensions.. her state pension prediction is 1800 quid a month her hospital pension is about 600 quid a month and her private pension is around 400 quid a month
so if all pans out we'll have about 1k a week pensions lol..i think we'll manage ok on that ffs
you can claim ya state pension from 61 here...if i did that i'll get 600 quid a month..not to shabby for 19 years service i rekon

I have my retirement house already bought and paid for. A place in the country here in France, where it does not get too hot.
Part of my retirement plan is to sell half of my garden where I live now (I will sell about an acre, in one or two plots ), then sell my the house. My daughter will get the apartment.
I will then have my state pension, my private pension and my French pension to live on. It should give us a good quality of life. When I retire, I see little point in expensive HiFi, as it will be wasted on old ears.

Working as hard as you say you do, I bet you'll be bored out of your mind within weeks of retiring. The first couple of months are like a well deserved holiday, but then you may start to feel increasingly restless unless you find plenty to do

He'll still have the bathroom to wax, cooker to clean, garden and pond to take care of, not forgetting a son's car and bike to keep clean.

Up at 0430, clean the cooker, floor, cars etc then off to the airport, plane to Spain, get to the holiday home, clean the floor, cooker etc there too, then back on the plane to Sweden, getting back there just about the time the son is getting out of bed.
Should kill most of the day.
