Sometimes if you can't be bothered to play your system. Or in other words - feeling lazy etc.
Can this signify that your system is not good?

No, even when you have an insanely hot woman in your bed, eventually you need a break. Even if it's only for 24 hours. If, after the 24hrs is up you DON'T want to get back to that hot woman, then it's Sh#t.

Can't speak for everyone though. If I've got it sounding good (in the very brief periods between one thing being fixed and another breaking) I actively look for opportunities to do some listening. If I haven't got it sounding good then the telly's on. Same at shows. I always hate it when the first room I go in sounds really good because I want to stay there. But I can't because there's the rest of the show to see.

This refers specifically to vinyl, because a) the records are harder to get to than the CDs, b) I have to get up off of my fat arse to turn the record over and c) sometimes I need to clean the stylus and/or the record before playing it. When I can be arsed, as I was a couple of weeks ago, I'm amazed by how good it sounds, but then the laziness kicks in again and it's back to CDs.

Yep, it can often signify that I’m not feeling good, just as much as the system, That said, since I got my Sonneteer stuff, I’ve never had hifi “off days”. That’s been at 4 different properties with a good few speakers, too.
I’m still a “Sh#t in, Sh#t out” believer. Source and amp need to be optimised for me. The speakers can radically alter presentation, but the message is already determined by then.
