£235, jesus, why dont you pay people to take them off your hands?
I bet that's not even 2x parts and £10ph for the build.
That's seriously underpriced Oli.

I know it is, but i dont mind helping the forum guys out a bit. I remember when I couldnt afford or build a quality phonostage, so if it helps someone out, I'm good with it Obviously, I cant do it forever lol

Having buggered about with my Xerxes for quite a bit of late, I think I can understand why. There is little room under the Xerxes / added to which because of the different ‘plinths’ I couldn’t fit a right angle tone arm din socket. So having thin wires would allow it to thread through the bottom plinth. I’m only guessing that’s why they did it. I used a straight one, but added quite thick sorbothane feet to raise the deck and allow room for the cable underneath the deck,

Well F#ck me!!!!
Listening to The Beatles - Let it Be on (album ) Vinyl.
I'm listening to the title track, just enjoying.
For those who dont know, there are two different guitar solos for this track and on this album they over dubbed a new solo over the old one.
Unbelievably, I'm sat here listening to the solo and suddenly realise I'm air guitar playing the wrong one....but I can hear the wrong solo in the track
I jump up and replay the same section and sweet jesus, there it is....theboriginal Solo in the background, audible under the new one.
I have NEVER heard this before......I mean never. Not on any version. Digital, cassette or Vinyl..
I am absolutely blown away by this phonostage.....simply stunning

Same happened to me the other night when I was listening on headphones to a track I knew well and I could hear two piano parts distinctly where as on the system it sounded like one. This is easy to hear on headphones but if your system can do the trick and reveal recorded information you were unaware of that is superb!

I had the same with a military drum roll in the background of Broken Stones by Paul Weller. Never heard it before, listened to it for years. Thought I was having a transformational hifi moment.
Turns out I can even hear it on my old cassette walkman..

Just done the same mix on the PecanPi and whilst it's there, it's not 'there's
Really have to listen for it whereas yesterday it leaped off the page at me.
Who was it that said Digital was more hirez than Vinyl?
Lol, only joking btw. Listening to the PecanPi now and it doesn't leave me wanting. It's a fantastic bit of kit now.

How is the tonearm cable connected to the splitter box now attached to the shelf?

@cageyh antonioHa! No, i have made the TA cable for someone lol jimboYes, for now. I have just been brainstorming with Angus over a better version of my splitter box. I want the distance between the din and the sockets reduced and Angus has an idea. "Why not use one of the cables you've just made?" i hear you ask. one reason...... it's no fun lol Truth be told, I was massively intrigued by the SME and Technics arm bases which had RCA sockets directly attached. I thought it was a brilliant idea. Ultimate flexibility, so i built a splitter box by destroying my arm cable and went for it. I think there is a small sonic benefit to using the Spotfire interconnects with the splitter box, so i left it in. Now it's time to develop that interest further. We have a plan, Angus might have time, so hopefully it's a short distance to a prototype.
