I have heard both and impressed with both. I have a feeling the Qutest has a more muscular sound and is probably more detailed with bigger soundstage, however I was listening with files loaded on an Innuos Zen. As a stand alone DAC fed with files off a laptop and using the Pi as a streamer things maybe different. The Qutest is excellently isolated as a device and its output can also be changed which can have a significant effect. The Pecan Pi is very good indeed with good imaging and sound stage and control but I feel the Qutest is even more controlled especially in the bottom end and delivers more information. This will be an interesting bake off if it happens especially as the Qutest is five times the price, can the Pecan Pi hold its own..... You still haven't heard the PecanPi at it's best and whilst I don't doubt the Chord will be excellent, I do wonder if it will be a sound I like. Ah thats another matter.

The name is the same but it is a completely different product. Arcam Dave was an additional three channels of amplification to turn your stereo amp into a Home Theatre amp.

Macca is quite correct the Arcam dave is a very different audio product to the Chord Dave dac.
Same name two polar opposite sounds, the pump house bling being like naim of old, all leading detail and sonic fireworks, an impressive starter but lacks real three dimensional depth and inner musical presentation, when you hook up the m-scaler it just has a bigger sound stage and even more thrust. Like all Chord products case work is nicely executed and finish is good, lots of options for tinkering with the sound.
Having had the both of these products for a good 10 ten days on loan I can give my view of this, in the end I went for a Lumin S1 cost wise around the price of a Dave without the m-scaler, sound quality wise far more natural, greater depth and texture and a much better sense of ease of listening.
Others my feel different but if you are looking to go down this route please do look at other makes and models in this bracket I have a feeling they will change your thoughts on what is now possible from digital.

I know the product is different, but Chord are hardly being original with the name.

Looking forward to giving this a try. Brand new to the market, and by our very own Simon (sq) It's up against my 'go-to' record cleaning fluid made by "Rebirth of the cool" More commonly known as "The Right One" I have a couple of LPs here that I have been saving for this little test. Results of the review and comparison will be in the review section.

No worries jaime. I actually fitted a set of those feet under my kuzma, doesnt sound any different to my air bladder setup, which I'm pleased with, cos they look better.

Ha! Postie brought my delivery from Farnell today. I did wonder if it would get here or if we'd be I lockdown first. Thankfully, Its here. Now just waiting on the PCBs which are "in transit" with Yodel. I'm hoping they get here before the weekend as I think I could be stuck after that. Been busy though. Sifted 200/1200 resistors and weeded out the ones at 0.1% ready for the next BB build. I could have bought 0.1% resistors but there is a bond between me and Vishay, and when 10 resistors cost £2.40 vs 100 @ £3.70, Seemed sensible to go big. Knackered now and I have two tonearm cables to make tomorrow so it's time for a rest and a cuppa
