The items listed below sounds good to my ears, and represents good value for money. Of course, second hand bargains will always be king. But at least the items below at new price are not rip-off.
AKG K240 MKII. Lovely sounding headphones for £56. Dali Spektor 1 & 2. Decent sound for under £200. Dali Zensor 3. Any version of the Superlux 'HD-681' headphone. All priced under £30. Grado SR60e. You get 85% of the Grado sound. More pricey Grado's can lead to diminishing returns. That Van Damme interconnect Mark Grant sells. 1m length is £17. Decent enough cable for beer money. Rega Apollo-R.
I'll try and think of some more, lol.
What about you guys?

Audio Technica cartridges. Beat the Sh#t out of others at any price point, Not much more than they were in th e80s when the opposition have quadrupled. Grado SR60/80. As you say, 85% of what the expensive ones do. Breeze TPA3116 amp. It’s all been said. A decent sounding amp for next to no money. Duevel Planets. £850 new is a joke for what you get. They are a real taste of the high end with a gorgeous aesthetic.
I have little experience of new kit, so I can’t really add much more.

Chromecast audio still knocking around for £30 The cheaper PI based streamers for about £100 Basic Rega planar/pro-ject decks at 2-300 are good
A system of chromecast, breeze amp and those Dali speakers leaves change from a grand and would be tiny and sound really good.

I know these come under as accessories, but still involved with Hi-Fi. The isolation plinths by Oscars Audio in the UK are very good value. Solid and will last for years!

Must give a shout out to the HDX1 interconnect by Mark Grant. Stupidly good cables for under £60. Bargains if bought second hand as well.

How could I forget Schiit? I’ve only had the Asgard 2, but I like the brand and will dabble further.
