Anyone here heard any?

Yeah Saras are a tough load. The guy who,so,d me my first Sonneteer had a later LFD and reckoned the LFD and Sonneteer were near identical in his system. In another system it might be very different though. I think Art K had LFD and liked it initially but then found it a bit clinical.

Some of the LFD integrateds are priced at over £5k! Wondering if the components are really top quality? I understand the maker is a bit of an artisan.

Bit of a cult following from what I've read, never heard them though. Bit surprised someone found them clinical, when the general consensus is of a warm sound.

I found the few LFD amps I heard rather 'cool handed' and not hugely powerful. There seems to be a bit of hype without substance with this make and prices are very high - maybe due to small volume manufacture, I don't know and the (no doubt expensive) cases aren't off-the-shelf either I suspect...
Sara's are a three ohm load and you really do need a bit of a powerhouse to drive them. Even a NAP250 could be made to overheat on a good rock music session I remember vividly... Our hard worked dem 250 had to frequently by stood on its side and a fan blasted at the underneath to cool it down so we could thrash it again - cough...

I once heard a Roksan Kandy MK3 driving Sara's. The Roksan drove them fairly well!

I liked the caspian stuff but may be alone in this. the Kandy K2 of yore was everything I hate about 'HiFi' products - loads of 'sound' but absolutely NO music whatsoever - basically a cheap powerful PA amp with domesticated clothes - maybe the latest one is rather better.

I read that the K3 is more refined sounding.

I had a Caspian Integrated and power. I thought they had no redeeming qualities. A real surprise.

I never sold the Caspians, just had some in for a dem. I thought them quite musical and sweet, rather like a Quad 77, the sound of which may not find huge favour here.
