So the Neverending story did actually end. Happily too What to do with any further bargains I pick up? Well I thought I’d start a bargains thread for me and anyone else who picks up the odd bit, just because it was too cheap to miss. Two Jiffy bags were on the mat when I got home today. One was an Audioquest Video Z digital cable I got for a tenner. I didn’t think much of them back in the day but I’m sure they were £100, so a tenner was too cheap to pass on. Next I bought 3 pairs of interconnects for general use if I’m testing something or lashing up a system for fun. They are Kelvin K2. Nicely made and a tenner a pair again inc post. I haven’t tried them and it will be a while before I do but I’d be interested in hearing from anyone who’s tried them. Feel free to post your bargain scores here too. Room for all.

There's a MK4 Orton on eBay. But pricey though!

The bronte is dropping in price. Last ones I saw went for £239. It’s not that far off now. Being class D I don’t know what it’s like.

What is that you've bought. the link is just a list of plot holes in Batman and Robin. Which seems to me to be just shooting fish in a barrel.

It sometimes happens when you use free hosting that they include an ad link on the code. It’s an AT OC9 MLII

Didn’t even know that movie had a plot tbh, let alone holes.

Nice find Westie, you've been telling us it's your fav. Yeah out of the ones I’ve had, it’s been perfect to my ears. I bought from the USA. I guess they must be a lot cheaper there

Incidentally, for anyone finding an OC9 a bit “full on”, try seeking out an OC7. I got a minty almost unused one which I’m really enjoying. It’s slightly differently voiced but not inferior. It’s like the OC9s laid back twin.
I will be keeping the OC9 boxed til I’ve used up the best hours of the OC7.

At £900 I would consider taking a punt on one.

At £900 I would consider taking a punt on one. Me too, although I think I’d prefer a second Campion and use them as two mono amps. I did this before and liked it. It’s the basis of the Orton.

I’m enjoying my listening so much these days I don’t even look for bargains as much as I used to. Getting back into vinyl for the umpteenth time has been very rewarding, I listen more to vinyl than CD but that’s probably more to do with the tactile pleasure of the experience.
It hit me this morning that I don’t even think about the “sound” anymore. I don’t evaluate because I’ve got a level of trust that I haven’t had before. I just enjoy.

So I got the Neats (pretty and a real bargain) for the bedroom, but I did hanker for another pair of Ela mk1s. My mate just emailed me that he’s bagged me a pair! The Neats are too pretty to part with, so I will park them somewhere I can gaze at them Thankfully they take up very litte room, but I do have to store the box.

Superlux HD681 Headphones. Great sound for under £30.
In 2012, picked up a pair of Mordaunt Short Pagent Series for £2.70. Under 3 quid, daft!

The other two pairs of Kelvin K2 interconnect hadn’t sold, so I bought them too. The quality seems really decent although I haven’t tried them yet. £18 inc post for two pairs!
