Is anybody else here an f1 follower? i have followed it since I was a kid. I'm looking forward to today's race and hoping Mercedes aren't going to just drive off. I'm also hoping Max Verstaopen remembers he's driving a Firmula 1 car and not a bumper car! I see Ayrton Sennas 1993 car sold for 4.1 Million Euros and Bernie was the highest bidder. I hope he is t planning on turning it into a mobility scooter

I am a big F1 fan and am enjoying this year. Verstappen has serious potential, but like you say he needs to stop bumping into people. I hope Lewis beats Vettel again

I genuinely believe that the whole issue of drivers bumping into each other would stop if penalties were higher. I'd have more time for Max than I would Grosjean. I see him in the same light as I did Maldonado and Ralf Schumacher: Just far too clumsy and without the potential to be a winner, so basically just getting in the way.
I really do wish they would abandon all this tyre management and fuel economy crap though. I want to see drivers going as fast as they can for the whole race.

Lewis blew the competition away this weekend in France... Vettel showed again why he is a good, but in my opinion not a great driver, because he makes too many unforced errors.
Alonso should just retire, he isn't going to get a top drive and McLaren are probably 5-10 years off competitiveness if at all.

I know I’m gloating, but when you get a triple bill of great news, it’s hard not to. When it’s four bits of good news, it’s impossible to resist.
Hamilton getting zero points Mercedes getting zero points Vettel leading the championship Hamilton whining like a baby and throwing the toys out of the pram has to be the icing on the cake though. Best entertainment I’ve had in a long time. Let’s have more races like that one!

To be fair to him though, if I had been driving that car, I’d be bitching too.

Grosjean wrecks another car. What a fucking clown he is. Why do they keep him? He’s a liability and a risk to other drivers. How many races has he spoiled with his buffonery? PLEASE get rid of him and do everyone a favour.
Sorry to rant, but if there’s one thing I hate in F1 (besides Hamilton lol) it’s journey,an drivers who handle F1 equipment like bumper cars. Their antics often determine race outcomes and therefore championships, even when his baboonery doesn’t take out other drivers who have a shot at the championship, it causes safety’s cars or VSC incidents which affect the outcome.
If you aren’t a contender, stay out of the way of those that are. BIG penalties needed for these drivers and the teams who inflict them on F1.

Agree, he’s shite and a complete liability. They need to get rid.

Nice Pole Position, that was definitely a Lewis Hamilton special.

Hmm, shame Raikkon saw fit to punt Lewis out of the race at the beginning. Interestly, had he not had to claw his way back through the pack, I think he would have been able to get past Vettel, as he was clearly nursing both his neck issue and his tyres.
Vettel did well to get past Bottas though, and it was illogical to not bring him in under the VSC, whereas it was sensible to keep Lewis out. Very strange, Merc don't seem to have the balance right at the moment for pit stops.

Superb win by Lewis yesterday and now a clear 24 point lead. He is going to be very difficult to catch in the second half of the season, when he generally comes alive.
I find it funny how Lewis is a bit like Marmite, people appear to have such polarised opinions about him. I think he is by far the best driver on the grid at the moment and arguably the fastest, so good luck to him.

Yep......Look forward to the race.
Not too keen on Hammy but he is a great driver.
Need Vettel to win tomorrow, and the Ham out of the points to make it intresting.

Damn it, Vettel won easily yesterday. Mercedes need to up their game to get that car on a par with the Ferrari for Lewis to have any chance now.

Okay Ant.......wots your sport. Well apart from horse racing which I've already admitted to, you can add snooker, football, cricket, and table tennis. Come the Olympics, I pretty much watch all the sports except the equestrian events.

Snooker used to be my thing when I was young, I wanted to be a pro and played 7 days a week for a few years. Then I met my wife and broke the habit. I haven’t picked up a cue since we got together.

I'm afraid I haven't played snooker for at least 12 years, shame. Did play a lot of pool when I lived abroad and enjoyed that but it's not the same.

Now that was some race weekend for Lewis and Mercedes. Their bogey track, and Lewis pulled out the lap of his career and then goes on to win with a clear advantage over Vettel and Ferrari who came in 3rd place.
40 point lead is looking ominous for the Championship.
The greatest driver of his generation is showing why many people rate him up at that level again this year.

Has to be game over for this year. Vettel hasn’t been good enough to compete. My iPad just changed his name to “Ethel” which made me smile
