anyone speak another language coz i dont.
amazing lived here 14 years and have not learnt a single word in that time...99 percent of the swedish language i cant pronouce...have almost no idea what anyone is talking about..have only worked with the same folk since we landed. and lucky for me most swedes speak perfect english.
never seen swedish tv.
never listened to swedish radio..
my swedish hasn't changed since the day we landed march 2005..even if live here untill 100 i'll never learn it

if for some reason i have to say some words nobody has a clue what i'm trying to say..anything happened to marie i would sell everything except my clothes and head back to blighty

My French is not too bad. Got a reasonable vocab and I can recall how the verbs conjugate (mostly) So I can speak it to a extent where a Frenchman can understand me.
The problem is when they reply I haven't got a scooby what they are saying. They have to slow things right down and add in sign language before I can even get the gist. Not got the ear for it you see. Same with playing musical instruments. I can play guitar and I used to be able to play piano and violin. But I am/was crap at them. You got to be born with some talent in those areas to be good at it.

I lived abroad for 7/8 years and still could not speak the language, only a few words to help get by.

hard to learn when ya old...i know some english blokes fluent in 6 months and others not a word even after 20 years.

If you watch old muppets episodes you could probably pick up some basics off of the Swedish Chef.
