As someone who has made a lifestyle of doing as little as possible, I don’t get up to much apart from hifi and loafing around. I do like watching documentaries about alternative versions of history and anything to do with the cosmos. I also ride a mountain bike and enjoy a bit of property renovation now and again, but that’s about as much as I get up to.
Just wondering if any of you have more interesting pastimes or hobbies?

Sometimes I like going out for walks down to local towns. I'm always on my own because I don't really like socialising with people.
At home I'm very much like westie - hifi and loafing around!

In my younger days- hill walking, rock climbing and I used to ski a lot, from the age of 14 I worked weekends as a ski instructor which was a lot of fun and one of the best possible ways to meet girls lol.
Too bloody busy with work these days to do much, though I do manage to drink beer on occasion and I was always a bookworm- I average three to five books a week.

Mostly drinking beer and watching TV. Also do some wargaming from time to time, mostly this at the moment en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Operational_Art_of_War There's one scenario covering the invasion of Russia 1941-1945 on the regimental level. That one alone took me about six months to play. Beat 'em though.

Spot on Shane. It’s often frowned upon to say you don’t like socialising with people, but I love being this way and will always be honest about it. I always reassure folk it’s not that I hate all people.....just the ones I’ve met Hate all children though. I try to make my life as free as possible from them engaging any of my senses. And then people think you have to like THEIR sprogs and put up with them. Never in a million years.

Until i tore my rotator cuff in 2015, I was a religious attendee of MMA. Consisting of multi discipline martial arts such as Muai Thai, BJJ, Kickboxing and Greco roman Wrestling. I spent over 15hrs per week learning and practising skills and techniques. We had a good group with a couple of fighters getting onto Bamma and UFC televised fight cards. I was a little too old when i started but i'd have loved to give it a proper run and see how far i got.
It was after this injury which apparently couldn't be fixed on the NHS with surgery (so the hospital said) I really started to focus on the HiFi stuff.
When i retire at 55(18 years away) the plan is to start a blues band. Just to play in local area spots or just to keep the love of playing an instrument aive.
I had been in bands until i got to about 24yr but the need to get a job took over. I still play but its just practice really. No intent.

If not my brain needs to be exercised hence the wargames. Have work to do that too but that's mostly solving pain in the ass problems as opposed to working out how to capture Sevastapol before the winter sets in. Who knows why we find some odd things interesting? We just do.

That's why I'm fed up with it now. If you have one of those jobs where they actually expect you to do Sh#t (and I know a lot of people with jobs where they don't the lucky bastards) it just burns up too much energy and time and you get nothing else done.

The 35 hour per week is a ball and chain commitment. I hate how much of my life is taken up by work but I got bills to pay so what can I do! I can’t fathom folk who do anything other than hate work. One step up from slavery AFAIC.

I have to admire anybody who can stay upright on snow or ice. All my mates used to slide on ice for fun. I was the one on me arse after my first step. Never had good balance. I’d have made a crap cat.

Chickens can be quite entertaining with their antics.

Long walks are highly under rated. Indeed. I often think 'I can't be arsed to walk for miles' but almost invariably feel better for it. The exceptions are when a) I get hopelessly lost and b) it pisses down with rain when no rain was forecast.

I always carry a forage cap (with earflaps) in an inside pocket. Berghaus man, no rubbish. Showers are no problem, quite enjoy it. Of course when the rain is coming in sideways on at 30 knots, it's a different matter. But it still helps and can't be doing with umbrellas.

I like a good walk but I adore flying my paramotor. Very weather dependent but gives a great buzz.

Alan I'll have to tell you the tale of my first paraglider flight one day. Cromer golf club, 18th hole, 180 foot cliff launch, about five minutes ground handling experience...
