I think I’m getting worse for enjoying the feel of hifi. If knobs, buttons, disc trays, players, arms etc don’t feel nice, I’m not interested. Here are a few things ive really liked the feel of.
Townhend Rock: The whole clamp and trough ritual was very satisfying. Naim Chrome Bumper: The big knobs and especially the power on/off was reassuringly satisfying. Naim CDI: I loved the lid and puck. Townshend Glastonbury: The hand holds were a really nice touch Nakamichi RX505: Tape reverse madness! Sonneteer Campion: The knobs feel sooo nice. Duevel Planets: Pawnbrokers balls are always tempting for folk. Everyone touches them! Linn Ekos: Such a slick arm. Felt like a precision instrument, which I guess it was. Krell KSA80: Those fins! Krell KSA50: The metal badge. Roksan Xerxes: Renoving the spindle.
Anything floated your tactile boat?

Heard a Naim NAP 250 about a month back. It's very solid and heavy.

Luxman amps and receivers. Every control is so slick, smooth and precise.

Copland “safe-cracker” knobs are lovely too. One of the nicest things were the weighted tuning knobs on 70s tuners,

This was my favourite remote. It feels so nice in the hand. I’m trying to post a pic of the LK1 remote but it’s not working.

Technics SL1210 - I could never get tired of pressing the big stainless-steel stop/start button. And the little pop-up cuing light in its die-cast metal housing. Build quality that just embarrasses the UK competition.
Sony CDP XB930QS - those soft-touch controls are lovely to use. And the big draw with the mech built in just glides silently out. Sold that on now though.
Never had a remote for my LK1 but it does look good.

I like that idea in principle as I don't change the volume much. Just with the occasional CD where the recording level is very quiet or very loud.

I don’t care all that much as long as it sounds good.

I like that idea in principle as I don't change the volume much. Just with the occasional CD where the recording level is very quiet or very loud. No volume control, no source selector. Volume is set by two resistors - 10k in series and 768R to ground. I chose the value to ground so i could play all cd's with different levels without being too loud or too quiet. Its surprising how loud some cd's are.
