Hello - I thought I'd make an effort for once. I tend to lurk around forums; reading threads, agreeing/disagreeing, moving along. I'd probably describe myself as an Audiophile rather than a Hi-Fi Enthusiast, but I'm not going to because then I'd have to understand the difference between the two. I've assembled a nice system that I enjoy listening to and, although I have my eye on a couple of upgrades, there's no urgency.

Hi, nice to see you posting here. I’m a fan of the Schiit stuff too. It’s genuinely well made and the emphasis really does seem to be on great value. I like the way they take nothing seriously too. Also mightily impressed that they don’t follow the herd. Who else would’ve made a tone control these days?
I haven’t heard the Mani, but will hopefully get a chance before too long,

Thanks for the Welcome Yeah, I have a lot of time for Schiit (that sentence only works when written down) - I'd be keen to try one of their DACs when I'm next in the market for one. (I currently use a REGA DAC that sounds great to me, so in no rush to upgrade)

Yup. Another forum prick, who thinks they know better than the designer.

Yup. Another forum prick, who thinks they know better than the designer. S. No not really. If you read the thread Schitt accepted there was a genuine issue (in the end) and took steps to sort it out in their production process. Designers screw up the same as the rest of us do.

I don't really think it is a question of having respect. Their gear was independently tested and found to have an issue. Not the first time this has happened in the history of hi-fi. Magazines send gear with problems back, they don't review it or even mention it (at least they don't name the manufacturer, they just admit they don't review it). The internet is different which I think is a good thing.

An interesting thread. I do like Schiit stuff though and it wouldn’t put me off buying. Odd thing I notice in Cyprus is that anything with a metal case gives you a mild electric shock if you touch the case when it’s on. I have F#ck all idea why, but I’ve had it every time. Doesn’t half piss me off.

I dunno could be a build up of static, does the electricity / shock dissipate once touched. Or more seriously do you continue to get a shock if you keep yer hand in place ?

Playing at being 'another forum loser' Shane?
There was no need for such a comment to Macca's post, which to my knowledge was true.

It was an interesting read, and leaves me still happy to buy Schiit, curiously.
