Spotted these on ebay. Empty Rega EL8 speaker cabinets. Thought I'd grab them for a bit of fun, as I've loads of spare speaker drive units.
I've seen the EL8 described as a transmission line speaker, but they are definitely not despite the low down rear port. Inside there is what appears to be a bass resonator sub-enclosure, fed via a very narrow slit port and vented to the rear. I'm tempted to cut the back panels out and convert them into proper 1/4 wave transmission lines, driven by five inch full range drivers.
