Been doing hifi most of my life and got the bugfrom my bigger brother, from what I recall his system back in the day was a pink triangle TT synthesis amp and snell speakers. I’ve had hundreds of stuff come and go but for the most part I have had valve amps every thing from audion, audionote, Art, Graf, Hovland a hand made 300b I sold last year and my biggest regret! To my now superb Luxman MQ-88.
Speakers I’ve had are too many to mention but I’ve had all sorts inc horns, hand made open baffles etc etc.
My current ones are beautiful Odeon rigolleto horn loaded with horn teeeter, simply lovely! I sold my CD player and all CD’s a few years back but ripped them all into hard drives in lossless flac. I now have a fantastic SOtM DS1000ex Dac/pre with the award winning SOtM 200ultra streamer/renderer. I use these with Roon and also have full tidal subscription which along with my 2500 ripped CD’s serves me well.
I also have 2 BK subs and an antimode room correction device, the difference this made to the whole sound top to bottom was not subtle and one of the best upgrades I’ve ever done. I am not a believer in expensive cables but I was before doing a proper blind test session with my friends but after doing this I was changed forever, so sold on all my very expensive foo and bought more hi fi and nowuse simple well made copper cable that serves perfectly well and made no difference to the sound what so ever.
