Take a lively characterful little speaker like an LS3/5A, flatten the response which emphasises the lack of deep bass, fit a softer better 'measuring' tweeter and I seem to remember, a POSITEC dynamic sapping protection circuit. The result is an utterly smooth safe 'noise' with little musical quality at all. To me, an object lesson in how NOT to design a speaker for music reproduction. As today I gather, if KEF design a good speaker for music, it's largely accidental (ducks and runs for cover)...

Kef haven’t been a fave of mine either. Didn’t the 102 go with KUBE? Or was that the 103?
