I've been using RS3's now for a couple weeks. The sound is pretty good, slightly above average. They have a nice musical beat and flow about them, with the ability to make your feet tap. Starting to get fed up with the chopping and changing as I get older. Really want these to be my endgame speaker. Sadly I had to move on my lovely Exposure 2010S2 to help the parents purchase a new boiler. So for now I'm using my old trusty SMSL 2021 amp. Surprisingly this little thing can drive the Rega's fairly well and loud. But don't be surprised seeing me going back to a more traditional amp soon S.

Starting to get fed up with the chopping and changing as I get older. Really want these to be my endgame speaker. Ha ha ha. How many times have I said that to myself? 'This is it, this is the sound I want, nothing needs changing'. A couple of years later, I'm back on the magic roundabout. There's only one answer; have no spare cash, no credit or debit cards, avoid hifi forums, shops, mags and shows. What you don't hear/see/read about, you'll never miss.

There is another answer: Hang onto a few spare bits to play with if you fancy a change. I have a mate who buys Linn/Naim, then goes “round Earth” for a bit before going flat again. He would be far better off having an LP12, 42/110 and Kans in a cupboard. He must be rivalling me for the number of Kans he’s had.

You need to get into diy and make yourself someting special like my avatar Yup. If you build it yourself, everything is special (but not necessarily good ).

I think the RS3's have some Royd genetics. They sound like a better Royd but without the screechy treble. You get a clear open sound in the midrange, just like Royds. The paper cone drivers also resemble Royds.
