Great write up.
It should also be noted that they are prototypes and there is a little more development to come. I have few XO tweaks, which will fractionally improve the FR and there'll be even better components going in. I'll let you know when they've completely finished and you can listen to them further optimised.

Nicely reviewed, got my attention! I'll be interested to follow these for when I'm finally ready to shop speakers. What are the dimensions? I assume price range is TBD due to ongoing experimentation? Arke

Arke Finished dimensions will be about 420mm h x 260mm w x 320mm d. Weight 20kg. Price TBD. I'll release some at early bird prices soon, but it will only be 6-8 pairs. 1 pair sold and 2 pairs provisionally sold. They will not be 'cheap' speakers but will be incredibly good VFM. More information on pricing will be very soon. These are designed to work in just about any room, be relatively compact and produce (virtually) unbeatable SQ. One thing has to give, and this can't be done for a low price.

Jason, I'd be honoured to support you in your endeavours, chalk up another pair.
You can't take it with you so think of it as being re-distributed.

If so, I assume they must be extremely good. Do you have the room to fit in a sub-woofer, or do you think the Solos will have sufficient bass for you? I know it is difficult for you to answer fully, as you haven't heard the Solos in your room yet.

I know it is difficult for you to answer fully, as you haven't heard the Solos in your room yet. My room is very tricky. It's smaller than people realise and it's extremely easy to get it over excited. The mV, as I said to Jason a few weeks back, are the best speaker I have had in my house by such a large margin that I feel privileged to own them. I haven't heard anything in anyone else's house that I'd rather listen to (barring Jason's), nor is there anything I think I can buy for anything like what I paid for these that would get close to them. To get to the SQ I have now and to be able to listen to them daily has given so much pleasure, that if I never owned or heard another speaker, I wouldn't care. The Solo's have made me care, so now I have to try them here. Regarding a sub, it's going to have to be small, Like 30cm³ small. Then it's a struggle, but I think there is something extremely special going on here and I'd try to find a way.

What you have now works better in that room than anything you had previously (I really liked the Ektas once I'd 'adjusted' to your room, I didn't have to adjust for the Mini Vaders) but that room's still a fixed limitation on the SQ that it's possible to achieve. Especially if you're really into sound staging, which I know you are. Don't want to deny Jason a sale but I think you'd be better off spending the money on that garage conversion. You'd thank me afterwards, you really would.

The garage conversion is definitely where the sensible money is spent, and should have been spent for the last five years at least. The mV sound better now than when you were here last. I have learned how to tweak the software and have made some really good gains in the midrange and LF. They are not in danger at the moment. In the spring next year I will (hopefully) be fitting a workshop into the garden which will allow me to gut the garage. It's highly likely that I may then broach the subject of a garage conversion, but the Solo and a couple of subs may be just what the Dr ordered in that space. I don't have an issue buying a pair in preparation

Another good read Oli (agree about Michael Kiwanuka, awesome artist) - sounds like Jason is onto another winner with these speakers Looking forward to hearing these in 'the flesh' one day.
