Hi all,
The impending purchase of a new DAC means I've got to shift some stuff, sharpish. That means great "non profit" pricing!
So, first up:
1) Topping D70S MQA in Silver- WITH MODS
Mods:
All Nichicon FG caps replaced with Nichicon UHW. These caps have a much lower ESR and a much higher PSRR rating. This results in a measurably (incremental) quieter background and cleaner soundstage/image.
XLR connections removed and replaced with WBT RCA sockets. PC-TRIPLE C solid core from PCB to socket. Not as pretty as I'd like, but perfectly stable and again, much improved sound.
Good bits....
Works perfectly, sounds Incredibly good and not just good for the money. My favourite DAC that has resided in my system.
Bad bits....
There are a few scratches/scuffs and whilst I'm not a stickler for these things, it's definitely not mint.
I spent decent money on the DAC and Mods, so just looking to recoup.
I'll add pics asap.
I'll also leave in the brand new Synergistic Research Orange fuse too. A magnificent bargain to be had here.
£400 Inc UK delivery.
2) Topping D70S MQA in Black - No mods
This one is like new. Original box, remote, the lot.
Immaculate. Planned on pimping it and going all black in my system. No point now, new DAC is silver, so this can go too.
£325 Inc UK delivery.
3) SAEC PC Triple C tonearm cable. - SOLD STP
This is as good as tonearm cables get. Ridiculously expensive to buy and import, and absolutely rare as he's teeth on the used market. This one was new to me, but it's been denied more times than DSOTM, so wears some scratches.
It was rerminated by me with WBT RCA plugs, but I'm happy to swap them for any other plugs of your choosing, and cost for a minor price alteration. Less if plugs were cheaper, more if not.
It's a 1.2m cable, isn't the most flexible in the world, but it's worth the effort. Simply the best Tonearm cable available for reasonable money.
This cost me around £550 to buy, import and reterminate. I will sell at £425inc postage.
4) Rotel RDP-980 DAC - SOLD.
Im sad to be selling this. I think this is probably the best £225 you could possibly spend on a DAC IF you only need 16/44. It's got everything you need sonically, including surprisingly good transparency and detail. It's imaging is brilliant and totally it's got all you need. Never heavy sounding, never stodgy or plodding, but equally has an adept ability to play to the pace of the music.
It's a great DAC, and one I will genuinely miss, but I've VAT to pay....
Original packaging etc.
£225 in delivery to the UK.
