The other day I had the chance to play one of my favourite organ music tracks. I have to use my Anthem a/v amp, as my PS dac/pre is still away being sorted. I forgot it was playing in 5.2 mode, and although my main speakers, centre and subs can handle it, my rear Q Acoustics struggled, and while watching a Netflix programme a couple of hours later, one of the rear speakers was making an awful noise, which I took as a knee jerk reaction to mean I had broken it,playing the organ music too loud. I just thought"oh well just order a new set of speakers", which I did, a pair of Wharfdale Diamond 12's, they just arrived via courier Last night when we had our usual TV time (Netflix and Prime) evening session, the speakers were behaving as if nothing had happened. So have a brand new set of speakers that I will put up on the shelfs later. Moral is not to have a "knee jerk reaction" next time something goes wrong

great you can give them away , thats ging to give someone else pleasure I am of the belief that if I have something that cost say under £400, then if I can trust the person NOT to try and sell it, i will give it away, call it paying it forward. I had a brand new nearly (hardy used) boxed Tascam DAP1 DAT, that I got with a late friends 6 DAT recorders, and gave it to a hi fi friend n Leeds

I've given away a fair amount of kit over the years. Someone sells it later I don't care.
Like a friend who will not give money to beggars in case they spend it on drink or drugs, she goes and buys them tea and sandwiches instead.
I just give them the money, what they spend it on I don't care. I don't have the motivation to police someone's life like that.
One thing did disappoint me. Some years ago now someone on a forum asked for a turntable donation for the youth club he was running, so the youths could play their 'vinyls'.
I shipped him a Sony direct drive, with the postage it owed me about fifty quid, that's no big deal, but I did have to pack it and lug it to the post office, which was hassle I could do without.
Did sort of expect a message back along the lines of 'The youths say 'Thanks very much'.' But no, not a word.

for a rear surround speaker, they are not to shabby. IF I was mobile enough would like to try them as a main pair, see what they are like. Many years ago there was a shop in London called the Cornflake shop, and remember they had a pair of the 1st iteration of Diamond speakers on the end of some esoteric Linn gear, they sounded wonderful apparently

Sadly i did win the 706s3 !!! Will pop them in the system to evaluate when they arrive .i guess 650 for a 1500 quid speaker is ok , even if they have a tiny bit of damage at the bottom corner you cant see
