Been using power conditioners for many years from isotek , isol , audioquest and puritan
been using the very good value niagara for some while now [ around 700 new ] made an instant improvement to system and plugs grip well . beautifully made so i was thinking about an upgrade to the 3000 BUT i think the weight might put me off
Now also been using the highly acclaimed puritan 156 with a groundmaster attached to a ground rod for some while too . so today decided to swap them round . a groundmaster city is on order as i cant use the earth rod in this system
A very nice chap from Music Matters came round a few days agao and had a look and suggested a few things , one being the new chord powerhaus M6 ... now these are pretty expensive at 2.4k but maybe will try it
anyone tried any of these ?

just running in some dynaudio floorstanders , about 40 hours on them . been pretty dire so far with boomy bass and some albums hard to listen to . had to put bungs in. this is with puritan 156 with ground . took it out and put in the niagara 1200 . bass is tighter and sound is better and more controlled and enjoyable . I have also pulled them out a tad from wall which may account a bit but i was NOT expecting that i must say . thought it would be worse with niagara over the more expensive puritan . early days yet
put puritan in another system and seems more bass and weight to sound but not necessarily better to listen to , early days yet . puritan ground on order and that may change things . quite surprised by this .

so left the Verity system to settle down for couple of days . tried it yesterday and it was most certainly more full bloodied with more bass and weight but it sounded not as i like , the sweetness of the treble was not so good , it was a bit bland and boring really , matter of fact . technically better than with the 1200 but not as compelling so tues plugged in the puritan ground master and let it run a bit ......my my my ... today its absolutely stonking . the bass is beautiful, the sweetness of the treble . i love to play an album by Rob Papen and track 4 just had me dancing . the magic is back ... wow sorry its beaten my beloved niagara and not a hope of trying out that chord powerhaus M6 at the moment we shall see how things go . System is BC EIX dac/pre . moon cd transport , moon 330a power amp and verity audio speakers [ rienzi ] P1080727 by , on Flickr P1080728 by , on Flickr
