It had to come. The best amp I’ve ever heard or owned would always make its way here. I remember back in the day, this amp created a huge stir and was at the heart of the Absolute Sounds revolution. Jimmy Hughes ended up running three of them into his Isobariks. The mind boggles because just one was found to possesss more musical ability, subterranean bass and unbustable power than I’ve heard from anything else. To this day my biggest regret is selling mine. Everything else can be replaced or could be equalled/beaten by another purchase. I genuinely doubt that with the KSA50. AFAIC it was perfect. One day I may be able to grab another. If I do it will be with me to the end.

If you ever do reunite with one. Will the Campion go?

Never had a Krell. Heard loads of them here and there though and yes, I'd like one and preferably the KSA50.

Just disable the fan and sit me next to it. That would probably cremate me and the Krell!

It's tiny!!! Lol, compared to the KSA100.
I'd love to hear one.

They do sound rather special yep. I had an early one in for a rebuild a while back and it certainly lived up to it's reputation on audition! They had some changes to the circuitry after a while, whether it made them better or worse I can't say as I've only had this one example in my own system. There also seems to have been changes in internal layout, make of transformers etc over the years. The 50S is a completely different amplifier in spite of merely adding an "S" to its name... there is no similarity to the earlier models and they are vastly more complicated. I've not heard one.

Macca has a 50s. It was incredibly clean but with bags of soul. I was so impressed i bought a Krell KSA100 MK2. Not the same in presentation, somewhat "lush" but completely addictive and wow, the bass could shake the enamel off your teeth. Great amps.
