It's likely I'll stick with the Ares II.
Though out of interest, how does the DAC-8Pro differ - I couldn't find much info.

The Pro 8 is different and was made before the Ares it was the next step up in their chain and used multiple DAC chips in series for each channel eight per side for the R2R ladder . Sound wise I would say it is better than the current crop but others might feel differently .It also has an input to add a power supply but that is very rare and hard to find . I would suspect that with the additional LPSU the sound quality would be enhanced .
