I would suggest different and in some areas ahead yes, oddly enough I have just had this very conversation with a gent on the south coast earlier today. At this level it's so personal Dave, I have gone head to head with a Vivaldi Apex and the Ideon has a lower noise floor better staging and even handed detail, combined with a more meaty and real sound that was using a N20 straight AES into both units no clocks
