Spent many months looking at cd players , i am fortunate that within a 10 mile radius of my house i can get Bryston bcd3 [ 4k] audionote various , teac 701 [2.5k] moon260d [ 4k] and many others including the primare cd35 [ 2.5k ] further afield the very well known Luxman D03-x [ 4k] . its the non prisma version
seen it many times at shows , it has xlr outputs . beautifully built with really smooth tray and quality remote even if cd control buttons are a tad small . contacted distributer for advice as tthey have bought out a new dm36 dac but no reply . fortunately my local dealer got the answers i needed and one was ordered . it replaced a marantz sa8005 into one of the most modded black ice dacs ever . fancied going one box for a while . plugged into an audioquest niagara mains conditioner it sounds pretty fine . listening tests continue but its very enjoyable and at almost half the cost of the moon , luxman and bryston so far its a hit
beautifully packaged but no written manual just a multi page safety document in multiple languages

looks like a nice player, its design is superb, as only the Scandinavians seem to do. I must admit that not having a CD player now, makes me a tad green...

3 months on and the cd 35 continues to be very acceptable . using the XLR into the BC pre amp , i was struck by the very natural timbre of the string instrument cd i was playing yesterday . everything sounds very good and no desire to upgrade it. Primare certainly have a good dac in it . no skipping or any problems so far .
Its plugged into the very capable audioquest niagara 1200 which i am 99% sure makes a difference to sound quality as well as protecting it from power surges
