I’ve taken a punt on a Sedley. I must admit to being totally happy with the Iso. It’s way better than most stuff out there and is to me a forgotten gem. It’s exactly the same as Tom Evans Microgroove, so there’s no reason to think it’s outdated.
Why buy the Sonneteer then? Well it matches my other kit and all their other stuff has hit the spot, despite it being different to the sound I usually go for. So I’ve bought on looks and experience of the brand.
Now i am usually slow to set stuff up so it might be a bit before I get to try them. I was therefore wondering if anyone has experience of both, or even which you think I will end up keeping? If it’s close, I will favour the Sonneteer due to it matching other kit, being adjustable and doing MM too. The thing is, I expect the Sonneteer to lose to the Iso. Any thoughts?

One thing still ringing in my tired old brain is that the Sedley is still current I think and if any tweaking has been done, then it should be possible to update it by the manufacturer.
This market is tiny so I'm not surprised if you feel the Iso has been forgotten in the melee over the last twenty years or so. I had to keep reminding myself with the LK1 just how very old it is now - and in the 60's, UK made gear was knackered at ten years old quite often...

AFAIK the only development on the Sedley has been the addition of USB outputs. I can see that being really useful to some, but I’d never use it personally. It’s going to be an interesting experiment. I still haven’t even fired up the Dryden DAC either. I’m just lacking the urge to mess about with boxes and wires.

I would’ve loved to visit the factory. I expect the Sonneteer to be a bit more laid back from what I have read. I tend to like lively kit, but the other Sonneteer products have won me round so I will have to see.
