I know that many on here are very methodical and serious about cables and the differences they make to their system . I have to admit in my systems I have only found very minor differences and as I do not have the free money to try very expensive cables I have kept to cheaper and lower end cables .
In my main system things are complicated a little by using Quad ESL 57 speakers which have very specific requirements that are often at odds and different to moving driver speakers . I used some NVA LS3 cables which are just off the shelf hookup wire . These worked and sounded very good . About eight months ago I bought some used Audio Quest F14 cables . Firstly these were cheap £32 for a 5 metre pair off e-bay . I chose these because they are solid core cables and in the past for passive moving coil speakers I had used DNM speaker cable and loved what they did . DNM are not a great match to the Quads so these offered a cheap alternative . Despite these sounding awful after ten minutes when I installed them with decent solid copper banana plugs after a decent three day burn in they became exactly what I was looking for and in all honesty I just left things as they were and enjoyed the music .
Over a period I had seen quite a number of comments and reports from other enthusiasts that I knew and respected about Deulund cable . In many cases they were saying these were as good a cable you could use before you got to really silly money . I was also quite impressed with the very different speakers they seemed to work with from old large Tannoys to Harbeths via LS3 5A . However when I checked out the cost via HiFi Collective with decent plugs it was for me at least quite a lot of money without knowing what they sound like . Sadly as no one offers ready made ones no chance to get a try before you buy deal so left it .
Then last week saw a used pair for sale and given the price I was able to buy them for already constructed I knew that if I did not like them then I could at the least get my money back on them . Still for me a decent amount to spend on cables but decided to give it a go . They have arrived today and will be putting them in my system later on and doing a a decent burn in over night to have a listen to them tomorrow . Will get back and let anyone interested what they turn out to be like in my system after that .
If anyone has experience of this cable good or bad will appreciate any pointers .

Okay have had a reasonable time for the cable to settle or burn in or whatever it does . Yes I am well aware that many say this just does not happen and everything sounds the same from the first minute you switch on . Well that is great but I hear in my system with my music something different . Have to say the Duelund sounded good from the start but a t has changed over a couple of days and being on at low level through about 36 hours . Appears to be done now and just sounds consistent . This is very much my type of cable nothing showy very neutral and just gets out the way of the music . It does indeed remind me of DNM cable which I liked kitchen I used it , others would tell me it had no bass but I still feel that it has all the bass and detail you could want but only as part of the whole sound not pushed up or over spotlighted . So these will not be going back they are going to be staying they suit my tastes and they work well with my speakers and the NVA amp . Are they worth the £200 I paid for a 5 metre pair , not as sure as that they are better than the Audioquest F14 but not by a huge amount . If you can get a try of these then my view is Give it a go they are very good sounding speakers but I am not sure they will be to everyone's taste .

I absolutely love Duelund cable, I’ve always had one of their cables somewhere in the mix of the system, just gives instruments the correct weight and feel that I desire.

Sorry I should be clear but total wire cost is about £40 and add XLR and cover and all told it is about £80 new . You have no idea about the construction and they are used and the price is £125 . If I decide I want to go down the Duelund route will probably grasp the nettle and make up a pair of my own .

Inspired by the enthusiasm of Andrew and others for Duelund cables, I spotted and snaffled a pair of 16 gauge speaker cables on ebay today.
I'll let you know how I get on with them compared to my current faves, the VdH D-352.
