Now I have everything I really need and just enjoying the music etc, I am looking at what might make a subtle difference. Cables make that difference I believe, am happy with my speaker and XLR cables, so looking at sub High Level ones. I have a couple of Rel S8/12 subs and just use the Neutrik high level (for music) cables that came with them (connected to the PS700 mono amps other speaker terminals), but have often wondered would upgrading them be worth it. Considering they just produce a low hz range. I also use the standard sub cables that came with them for the A/V side plugged into the sub outs on my Anthem a/v amp

I messed about with sub cables for a while. If taking the signal from the amp (high level, REL etc) using cable the same as the speaker cable yielded the best results. It's 2.5mm so fine for low frequency.
Even though that 'shouldn't make a difference', it did.
Obviously you can only run cable to your subs the same as your speakers if you have a dual (stereo) sub setup (which I think you have). If you only ha e a single sub (ie you have to take the signal from L&R outputs of the amp) I would advise you just to use a decent quality 2.5mm 3 core cable. Doesn't have to be branded or expensive. The standard ones that come with the REL's are a bit weedy for the job in my opinion.
If you're just taking the signal from the preamp to the subs via RCA's, I didn't find much difference between interconnects but I didn't really delve that far into it as the connection directly from the amp sounded far superior.
It was no contest really and makes more sense to me that the subs receive exactly the same signal and at the same level as the speakers themselves (and if possible via the same cable).
Hope that helps a bit.
